ADOPTION | Coiled Whisker Crittery

You must be 18 years of age or older, or have a legal guardian's consent, to adopt from us.
We reserve the right to deny the sale of an animal for any reason.
I do not use a waitlist - due to dwarf rats having smaller litters, and I produce only a few litters a year, rats are available on a first-come first-serve basis. When rats become available they will be posted on the Available page. Litters ready for reservation prior to being ready to go home will be marked as such on the Current Litters page.
Pups are sold in same-sex pairs or more only. Rats are incredibly social and require the company of at least one other companion. I always recommend groupings of 3+ where possible.
I create listings for litters for reserve at 6 weeks old. Babies can go home at 10-12 weeks old, at breeder discretion.
I will never knowingly adopt out a rat(s) who is of ill health.
Adoption is pick-up only. I do not offer deliveries or shipping at this time.
CWC operates as a closed crittery. For the health and safety of my animals, I cannot accommodate visitors inside my residence.

Rats become available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
When you have decided which rats you'd like to reserve, complete an adoption application.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required on all reservations. If approved, I will contact you via email within 24-48 hours with payment options, a copy of the adoption contract to be filled out and signed, and to arrange pick-up.
Adopters must bring their own appropriate transport carrier for their new rats.
Payment is required in full prior to pick-up, or final payment can be made in cash at time of pick-up.
If you need to reschedule your pick-up, please contact me 24 hours in advance if possible.
All adopters will receive a pedigree for each rat, a care sheet, and a copy of the adoption contract for their own records.
